OUR CAL-WOOD,
OUR MOUNTAIN
The impact of COVID-19 on Cal-Wood has been devastating. We have been strategizing and struggling to survive the pandemic, and now this - the Cal-Wood Fire.

We launched a community fundraising campaign to survive this pandemic - and now this fund will also help us to recover from the Cal-Wood Fire.

A COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
Our goal is to raise $250,000 to sustain Cal-Wood through the school year so that we can innovate our programming, maintain and improve our facilities and land, and retain the rest of our amazing team.
A few generous donors have started the campaign through a leadership fund! We are looking to our community to spread the word and champion our campaign.
THE IMPACT OF COVIDÂ ON CAL-WOOD
Due to the pandemic, Cal-Wood has canceled all school programs, summer camps, and retreats fo 2020. Public school students will not be coming back to Cal-Wood this school year (through May 2021).  We have lost 10 of 22 employees, and our revenue for 2020 has been reduced to only 30% of our 1.8 million projected budget.
ADAPTING OUR PROGRAMS FOR OUR COMMUNITY IN 2020
Cal-Wood has adapted to meet current restrictions and to continue to serve our community, and to create opportunity for some program revenue.
Opened our land for family camping
Offered day camps at Cal-Wood and in Lafayette
Hosted modified Latino family camps.
Launched a school-aged family program as an alternative to school programs
OUR RESILIENCE
Our resilience was proven after the huge flood in 2013, when Cal-Wood survived 7 months with little revenue. We will prove it again - but this time is different because the end point is a moving target. We aren’t going to give up
